Lance Corporal Nick Lines is the recipient of an “I’m an Australian Soldier Scholarship”. He will travel to Villers-Bretonneux in France and will be part of the wreath-laying ceremony at Hamel.
He joined the Army in 2007 and has served in Afghanistan.
He will research the battle of Hamel and prepare profiles of Major-General Sinclair-MacLagan and Corporal N J Roach.
Nick says: “I joined the Army because I love Australia and these blokes actually died defending what we believe in. I’ll be honoured to tell their story.”
