The Great Global Warming Swindle This is quite an old video now (March 2007 by Martin Durkin] shown on the BBC in the UK.

I find it interesting being old and having been in the UK in the 70s I can remember some of this stuff – the talk about a pending ice age at the time and the coal miners’ strike was huge.

Let’s talk. One way or another we all end up on the end of having to adapt to these things regardless of whether they are real or concocted. The effects of political decisions are real. The effects of corporates are real.

What’s it all mean for us in our lives here trying to balance our budget and plan for the future and make sense of our world?

I think we should take every argument and proposition and discuss it thoroughly in an attempt to determine what is fact and what is propoganda.

The other thing that concerns me is there can be a lot of other things going on at the same time like ocean acidification that I have seen the figures on and don’t have any doubt are accurate.

Personally I’m more concerned at the moment about what is happening to the world’s oil supplies and soil supplies and some other key resources and population explosion. When I read the climate stuff it is deeply depressing extremely complex. I do think we should care about what we do as a species (in plague proportions on this planet). If we are being deeply destructive I think that is something morally wrong that we should try to stop. But it also means that we need to understand what we are doing and that turns out to be a very complex task indeed.
