Almost the best that can be said of our 7 local schools academically is that they are sometimes achieving results close to the Average of schools which are similar on the Index of Community Socio-Economic Advantage (ICSEA). Out of 95 results 56 were Close To Average for schools with similar ICSEA values. For example all Ferny Grove State High School Year 9 results were Close To Average for schools with similar ICSEA values. Let’s not kid outselves: Our local schools are producing at best very ordinary academic results in our local children in a world that is becoming increasingly academically competitive.

It reflects poorly on local schools that often they are achieving results which are Below those of schools with similar ICSEA values across the nation. Out of 95 results 33 were Below Average for schools with similar ICSEA values. There simply is no excuse for these results not improving to at least Average.

There were 3 Substantially Below Average results which is an improvement. They were: Grovely State School Year 3 Persuasive Writing; Grovely State School Year 7 Persuasive Writing; and Ferny Grove State School Year 5 Persuasive Writing.

There were 3 (out of 95) Substantially Above Average results: Patricks Rd State School: Year 3 Reading and Year 3 Grammar & Punctuation. CONGRATULATIONS PATRICKS RD STATE SCHOOL. Ferny Hills State School Year 7 Numeracy. CONGRATULATIONS FERNY HILLS STATE SCHOOL.

There were no Above Average results.
