Armed robbery:
A Caucasian man with a knife stole cash and a mobile phone from a taxi driver in Arana Hills.
An Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander man 25-30 attempted an armed robbery in a Keperra business with a knife wearing a balaclava but was foiled by the employees of the business.
A man armed with a knife robbed a Keperra supermarket this evening. Around 6.45pm the man entered the Gilston Street business demanding money from the lone male employee before fleeing with a sum of cash and cigarettes. The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance approximately 175cms tall and was wearing a black balaclava and blue jumper. An armed robbery occurred in Ferny Grove when business premises were held up with a knife. The young person had been caught.
Serious traffic:
A Mt Nebo man was caught driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.169%
A 63 year old woman died under a train in Keperra when her scooter appears to have run off the platform.
Other:
Counterfeit notes were presented at a number of businesses within Ferny Grove Keperra Mitchelton and Everton Park in exchange for goods earlier in the year.
Someone left their notebook computer in their car and it got stolen! Another person left their ipod in the car and got it stolen!
Fire in Ferny Grove
Police are investigating an incident at Ferny Grove that has left one man in hospital with burns.
Around 6.30pm 8/10/11 police were called to the rear of a McGinn Street address following reports of an explosion. Initial investigations indicate that fuel was poured onto a pile of wood which was then set alight causing an explosion. A 25-year-old Ferny Grove man has been taken to the Royal Brisbane and Womens Hospital with burns. A number of other people in the yard at the time were not injured. The house also sustained some damage.
Burglery charges – not a local
Police have charged a 32-year-old Wacol man following the alleged break-in of three homes on Brisbanes north side yesterday afternoon. Around 3pm an off duty police officer sighted a stolen sedan being driven around in the Arana Hills area. This vehicle was allegedly stolen from a Boyd Terrace Brookfield address on August 9. Police conducted patrols in the area and located the now unoccupied and parked vehicle at the intersection of Bunya and Collins roads. A short time later police observed two men return to the vehicle carrying property allegedly stolen from a break-in of a house in Bunya Avenue. The pair fled on foot when police approached them. One of the men was arrested a short time later following a foot pursuit. Police also located property in the car that was allegedly stolen during break and enters at homes in Hillenvale Avenue Arana Hills and Teak Crescent Albany Creek earlier in the day. The 32-year-old has been charged with three counts of burglary and commit an indictable offence and one of unlawful use of a motor vehicle. Police investigations are continuing.
Locate missing man
Police have located a missing 17-year-old Keperra man who was reported missing on August 24. The man has been located safe and well. Police would like to thank members of the public and the media for their assistance.
