    Dear {usertag:name}

    Welcome new member Anthony Smith of Club Arana on Dawson Parade Arana Hills. Anthony has joined the Recreation and Health Subgroups.

    Club Arana is one of our local gyms / fitness centres. They hold a lot of classes (Reebok Step Pump Body Attack Pilates Zumba RPM Yoga and swimming lessons for children) and there are huge gyms there as well as a heated pool (32degrees).

    Anthony joins our growing list of local health and fitness professionals who are members of Transition The Grove.

    I attended the Health & Diabetes Expo in The Gap on the weekend. Terrific. Organised by a Ferny Grove local!Let’s bring it home to our hills and valley here.

    She says the top outcome has been getting local health and fitness professionals knowing each other on first name terms and working together. This is on-going.  The professional coordination and cooperation between all the locals who are part of the network helping our community be fit and healthy is a powerful asset. Let’s build it here together.

    Here are some links to fitness and gyms on the Transition The Grove website.

    I do encourage you to make them ‘your place’ and add posts to the Forum.(You will need to Log In first for the New Thread tab to appear) Create a presence. Post to multiple categories.

    If you want to add to or delete or change information on the Community Directory send us a Contact Us email with the details – it has to be done from the administrative end. You can edit any posts you make to the Forums and to the Community Calendar but not other people’s. If you think something is incorrect or inappropriate do let us know promptly so that it can be made better. This community tool is as good as we all make it.

    And if you have classes and events happening how about putting them on the Community Calendar so people can find them and know about them.

    (There is a problem with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9 together for uploading a new event. If you have this combination we suggest you download Google Chrome – free & quick and easy to download and install and it works fine to overcome the problem).

    Do encourage your customers to visit the site check the Calendar and also to Join and add their own LOCAL information.

    Remember this website is strictly local and membership is strictly for locals.

    Let’s make this the fittest healthiest community in Australia! And let’s have terrific fun being involved in local recreation.

    Remember also that the purpose of the Subgroups is for people who want to be actively involved as distinct from passive recipients. This is going to be as good as the effort of those who see the potential and get actively involved make it.

    Cheers

    Anne Tennock

    Subgroup Coordinator
