Dear {usertag:name}

This e-newsletter is being sent to the Water Subgroup.  The information in it comes from the Kedrong Brook Cathment & Northern Catchment Network and Creek Rangers.

Hi Everyone

As some of you may already know KBCB & NCN have recently purchased a Horiba which will be available to borrow by our community groups Bushcare groups and Council employees.  However before making it available to lend out to anyone it is recommended that you attend training on the use of it and how to look after it as it is a very pricey piece of equipment.

So this Tuesday night 17th April Kedron Brook Catchment & Northern Catchment Network will be having a combined meeting with Nathaniel Parker from SEQ Catchments coming along to discuss water quality testing and the use of a Horiba.  He will be doing a 30min-1hour chat about the Horiba and will also be bringing a few in for us to practice with.

The meeting will be held at Downfall Creek Bushland Centre and will begin at 7.00pm with a few refreshments beforehand.

The equipment will be kept at Downfall Creek Bushland Centre and KBCB & NCN will be organising a policy for the use and care of it as well as a borrowing procedure – more of this will be discussed on the night.

Hopefully see some of you there on Tuesday.

Kind Regards
Jacinta

As we tackle climate change pollution and the need for renewable energy some argue geothermal energy is Australia’s answer. It’s a clean energy source able to generate base load electricity without burning fossil fuels or using nuclear reactors.

Join Michael Duggan in conversation with Director of Queensland Geothermal Energy Centre of excellence Professor Hal Gurgenci and Geodynamics’ Chief Scientist Dr Doone Wyborn as they discuss how geothermal energy is harnessed its limitations and what it will cost us both environmentally and economically.

We may see you there.

Regards

Anne
