Dear {usertag:name}

Welcome new member Roger Hallmond to the Food & Gardening  Recreation Transport Environment Energy and Towards Zero Waste Subgroups.

Remember that there is an Energy Subgroup meeting this coming Thursday evening at the Ferny Grove State High School Resource Centre at 7:00pm. There’ll be an advice about it from John who coordinates that group.

Members who are interested in being part of a community garden are encouraged to get involved with the recently incorporated local group The Hills District Community Garden Group. This group is actively in the process of getting a site for an allotment-style garden possibly in Upper Kedron and also in setting up a smaller garden at Patricks Rd State School near the preschool. Jo and Zeki who are both members of Transition The Grove’s Food & Gardening Subgroup are key contacts for the community garden.

There is a proposal that it would be valuable to have the Towards Zero Waste Subgroup consider. Could we meet for breakfast soon?

Have a look at the Groups tab to start getting a sense of who is in the different groups. There is heaps of potential for members to get involved and get something going in all the areas. Most of the groups are getting good numbers of people who have indicated their interest now. If you are prepared to help organise a get-together for one of the groups to get discussions going that would be most welcome.

What do you all think about the carbon tax as released today? It would be a good topic for us all to have a chin wag about.

Warm regards

Anne Tennock
Subgroup Coordinator
