The APN billboard strategically located on Samford Rd directly over the road from the skate-bowl where some of our young people congregate to recreate might do well to listen to a (nearly)local author M K Hume who has hit the international headlines with books on King Arthur.

She attributes their success to the eternal questions they raise about the codes to live life by:

[ul]a line in the sand
honour
duty
courage
what makes a man
what makes a woman
decency
civilization.[/ul]

It is a definite relief to see the awful yellow and black advertisement for impotence treatments removed. We sought help from some local big name movers and shakers in the hope that they could be effective in getting rid of this awful ad from the Kedron Brook valley. Maybe they intervened. Maybe its budget had run out.

Either way whoever thought it suitable to place right over the road from where our youth developing their sense of their own manhood congregate needs to do some serious reflection on what sort of degraded values they are trying to bring into this region. Neither young men old men or women need exposure to this garbage. Our men and women deserve to be served with better values.

Is a beer ad much better? Not as immediately offensive but still worth stopping and thinking: What codes do we offer our young in answer to the question: How to live?
