Even high quality furniture often relies on glued joints. Glue can lose strength with age just as children get bigger and heavier with age. The furniture, especially dining chairs, starts to creak under the pressure of family life. It’s a shame to see it abandoned on the roadside when a bit of judicious glueing, and maybe an extra screw here and there, could make it ‘respectable’ again.
