Dear {usertag:name}
Please welcome new member Robyn Murray to the Food & Gardening Health Education Water Facilities Transport The Head and Towards Zero Waste Subgroups. Robyn is a member of All Saints Anglican Church.
Angligreen had an excellent ‘Say Yes’ morning tea and discussion at All Saints Church this morning after the service. Fifteen people participated in a very active discussion on climate change and carbon tax. Everyone had something to contribute to a well-informed debate.
It was agreed to hold more of these sorts of discussions on climate change every second month.
One of the rewarding aspects of being involved with Transition The Grove is getting to hear that these things are happening locally and coming along to be part of it. It is also a way to meet some inspiring people. Discovering the level of concern knowledge and articulateness (is that a word?) of the people in the debate ordinary people who live in our local community gives hope and inspiration.
It was also inspiring to watch Ann Ellis one of our Transition The Grove members and also one of the hard-working members of Angligreen be courageous in organising the event and speaking about it and opening the discussion. None of us should ever underestimate how difficult it is to open discussion on climate change and carbon tax. These are hugely challenging topics. We were full of admiration for Ann and the results were outstanding. She’s promised an interview for the Transition The Grove Hour on Radio YYY on the topic of climate change and the Say Yes campaign.
Warm regards
Anne Tennock Subgroup Coordinator
