Just had a fantastic session with John Rice who runs the Family History group at Arana Library. He has so many family history resources and so much expertise on how to use them.
Have now tracked down some likely soldiers fighting in the Battle of Waterloo and the Peninsula Wars and have found the details I was looking for on my very oldest ancestral immigrant to Australia.
