Finishing 2012 with tummy working much better.

Definitely been an excellent year with getting control of tummy problems and weight. The six big (huge) successes this year have been:

[ul]
[li]FODMAP diet – keeping frutose to low levels.[/li]
[li]No sugar. Actually no sweeteners or sweet food at all. This has been a fantastic change and had dropped my excess waistline at least 50% this year effortlessly but more important has improved general well-being markedly. Christmas has been hardest and slipped a little. It also includes keeping white carbohydrate portions tightly under control and down to a minimum. No fruit juice. Cream is fine. So far little success at dropping from one glass of wine a day but have started using the Australian standard drink measure to stick to one of those.[/li]
[li]Largely avoiding bread including wholemeal breads. Gone are the glory days of making a homemade load each day or two.[/li]
[li]Pressing the vagus nerve point regularly including before going to sleep. This is halfway between sternum & bellybutton. [/li]
[li]Dramatic reduction in sitting time (mainly at the computer). This means that getting up and moving is the best exercise I’ve found for the tummy.[/li]
[li]Soaking beans chick peas and brown rice in warm water in a big plastic thermos overnight then draining off the water before cooking. This reduces the phytates which are high in these foods.[/li]
[/ul]

Reducing probiotic intake (natural yoghurt) quantity slightly may be helping.
A thorough de-worming may have been beneficial.

Certainly the bowel responds well to full rest total fast a lot of water to drink when early on I was still having problems. And there is a need to reduce the bacteria which I do completely effectively with silver colloid we make ourselves very quickly and easily. I’d hate to use the antibiotics the doctors prescribe but for people without access to silver colloid they can be essential.

I did get properly checked by doctors to exclude ovarian cancer and bowel cancer.
