The Northern Catchments Network has a water quality testing strategy that links in with land use and planned developments to observe any changes in water quality that may trigger a project to assist with water quality improvement.
If you choose to do this water quality training you will have the credentials to lead your own team of two people on a minimum 3 hour per month outing to collect water quality data. You may take a second person along with you that has not done the training so it is not essential you complete the training if you are interested in participating in our water quality monitoring program however it is recommended.
The course is absolutely free and the local training in collecting water quality data in the northern creek catchments of Brisbane will also be given so that you can embark on this fun and purposeful program.
If this is the opportunity you have been waiting for you may also opt in for the Water Quality Monitoring Sub-Committee that will have more of a strategic input into WQM activities.
The next round of Water Quality Monitoring Training will be held on December 5th and 6th.
The location is still under negotiation.
This training program has been developed to support the quality assurance and quality control of collection methods of local water sampling programs for the inclusion in regional and local monitoring evaluation and reporting processes.
The training program will involve 35 hours of flexible delivery. This includes the completion of two workbooks and a two day face to face delivery program.
This training is provided with the provision that data collected by people is imported into or provided for importation into the SEQC WaterQ database.
If you are interested in participating in the training you can contact Joadie Hardy for more information or register your interest to jhardy@seqcatchments.com.au.
Please provide a postal address so that training resources can be supplied. Registrations close two weeks before the training delivery to ensure participants have enough time to complete written work beforehand.
RSVP’s are required no later then November 14 2011.
Please forward this information to others who maybe interested in attending
