NAPLAN tests Years 3 5 and 7 on Reading Writing Spelling Grammar & Punctuation and Numeracy.
They provide comparison results for schools serving children from statistically similar backgrounds and for all schools and results for each year can also be compared with the previous years to see if there is an improvement.
In 2009 St William’s School got a lot of Average results with some Below Average results compared with schools serving children from statistical similar backgrounds.

There is an alarming decline in results across Years 3 and 5 to mainly Below Average or Substantially Below Average. Year 3 spelling declined to Substantially Below Average from Average. Year 5 spelling declined to Substantially Below Average. There is an excellent result in Year 7 Grammar & Punctuation improving from Average to Above Average.
