We have actually reduced the number of electronic gaming machines by 40 with the demolition of the Ferny Grove Tavern.

The question is:

How much of the money that goes into poker machines is:
[ul]returned as payouts to the gambler?
returned to the club?
goes as a tax to the government via the QLD Office of Gaming & Liquor Regulation?
returned from the government to this community as grants from the Office of Gaming & Liquor Regulation?[/ul]

What is a form of circulation within this community and what is wealth flowing out of this community? Some could even come to this community from gamblers well outside this community like at Jupiter’s Casino on the Gold Coast.

In Queensland clubs and hotels electronic gaming machines are programmed to return between 85% and 92% of the amount bet to the gambler. An 85% return means that for every dollar bet on a poker machine 85 cents is typically returned to the gambler. This return is achieved over the life of the machine usually 3–4 years and you can’t expect to receive 85 cents for every dollar you bet in a single gaming session.

The gaming grants our area is eligible to apply for are:
