Reflecting on this and how global crisis in water affects us locally here in The Grove:
[ul]Compassion – not sure how this plays out further
We should take the time to learn about the global crisis in water because it will have very direct implications on everyone worldwide
[ul]Threats of water wars as some regions are literally running out of water (Ex. glaciers supplying China & India retreating fast)
Huge waves of environmental refugees driven out by lack of drinking water & water for farming from their homelands
People overseas aren’t sitting on their hands. They know what they are facing and they are on the hunt now to purchase water and farmland around the world to ensure on-going supply to their own populations. This includes quietly buying up our water and land before we even start to pay attention to it
We actually import water from overseas to consume here in The Grove embedded in imported food & garments & goods. Some of these come from countries with water crises. By consuming more locally and reducing imports we are taking responsibility for our own consumption and needs and not being part of the problem for other communities.[/ul][/ul]
