Volunteers benefit in many ways.
Volunteers helping at aged care facilities love hearing the life stories of the people they help (doing their shopping taking them on outings providing transport helping at meal times). They also find it very rewarding that the people are so appreciative for the help.
Volunteers bring fresh perspectives and enthusiasm to daily activities and can make a positive change to the day-to-day living and working experience. Many also have specialised skills and knowledge new ideas and fresh insight to tasks at hand.
