Department of Communities has $200000 available through their Building Supportive Communities grants to support initiatives during 2011. It may coincide with Disability Action Week and International Day of People with Disability;.
In 2011 the focus will align with Towards Q2 – Tomorrow’s Queensland and target events that include people with disability and support the Fair and Healthy aspects of Towards Q2.
Grants of up to $5000 are available to community groups and individuals wishing to stage an event or complete a project to promote a more inclusive community for Queenslanders with disability.
Applicants need to match the value of their grant request with an in-kind donation of dollars materials or volunteer labour.
