The Social Justice Group is in the process of planning a seminar/ workshop with speakers/ experts on violence within the family workplace and school life for February next year.
Other groups in the community who might be interested in taking part and promoting this seminar include Neighbourhood Watch the Police schools other churches Transition The Grove (security and governance sub-groups).
We need to understand what violence is and how to avoid behaving violently and how to avoid being subject to violence. Examples are bullying in schools or at work and elder abuse.
Another example worth considering is the new definition of abuse under the Family Law Act which has recently been broadened considerably in regards to custody of children in family breakups.
