Safety is something we take very seriously at Repair Cafe The Grove, and it’s not just electrical safety. Small engine machines – lawnmowers, chainsaws and line-trimmers like this one need fuel so that our volunteer fixers can test them to diagnose a problem. Safety concerns extend to fire and fumes so these need to be dealt with outside. Modern re-chargeable battery tools are rapidly taking over but sometimes the rapid summer growth means that you need to pull out the more powerful old petrol-driven machine only to find that, not having been used for a while, it no longer works. Book it in and we’ll check it out to see if it’s something simple like a dirty spark-plug or a sticky valve.

Repair Cafe The Grove pops up on the fourth Saturday each month except December at the Grovely Mitchelton Scout Den at 170 Blaker Road, Keperra and welcomes residents of suburbs of Ferny Grove, Upper Kedron, Ferny Hills, Arana Hills, Keperra, Everton Hills, Everton Park, Mitchelton, Gaythorne and Enoggera.
