Solar prices come down year on year and the technology improves. Meanwhile fossil fuels will only get more expensive. Investing in solar energy really should be a no-brainer for the Sunshine State. The shame of it is that some of this technology was pioneered in Australia but that we’re increasing losing the research and development race to Germany and China because we simply haven’t invested in our own smart people to remain here. There’s still time for a rethink though. The solar rebate always struck me as an eminently sensible policy – encouraging Queenslanders to make the move towards renewable energy and making it just that bit easier for them to do so.
