Then we have some talks for you. One on Australia’s lack of a defence strategy; another on salt; another on vested interests and big corporates; and then we finish up with privacy laws good and bad.
What’s been happening around here this week? Well there was a big public meeting out at Samford about increasing the bus services between Samford and the Ferny Grove station. That seems like a really good idea. So does getting a decent bike path through to Samford. Both of these things would take a lot of pressure off the parking at Ferny Grove station.
There was a Seniors Expo at St William’s. The Shadow Minister for Seniors the Honorable Bronwyn Bishop came along to open it. She said the first question people always ask is What is the definition of a senior? And the answer is: Someone who is over fifty. Apparently 40% of Australian voters are seniors. Bronwyn Bishop wants to see ageism made completely unacceptable which I’d wholeheartedly endorse.
People have been getting the flu in droves. John has been very sick with the flu. What do you do? Well what seems to work is hours and hours and hours of sleep lots and lots of water good hygeine so you don’t spread it to others. Vitamin D is not to be sneered at. A gentle sit in the morning sunshine. Don’t forget to move when you can. Hop up and walk around. Inhaling steam with a few drops of eucalyptus oil is a comfort. Patience and time and you get better. Thank goodness they invented tissues.

The important thing is that we think about them and talk to each other and listen to what our different points of view are.
