The Australian Medical Association is calling for legislation to ban alcoholic energy drinks and a group of organisations known as the Alcohol Policy Coaliation wants the Government to stop manufacturers making alcoholic energy drinks (already the case in the US). APC spokesperson says they present significant harm particularly to young people.
Apparently alcoholic energy drinks are extremely harmful pepping people up to drink longer and harder and likely getting into more trouble.
By masking the sign of intoxication people drink more than they normally would.
