The Ambulance Station at Grovely has now moved to 543 Samford Rd Mitchelton entrance off Kedron Avenue.
To contact them phone Queensland Ambulance on 1300 369 003.
Russell Nicholas is in charge of the station.
It is important to know that the Ambulance Station is NOT always manned. DON’T drive to the Station expecting someone to be there to help in an emergency. CALL from where you are and the Ambulance will come to you NOT you to them.
The original Grovely station was built in 1969 and has now outgrown the premises.
The Grovely Local Ambulance Committee (LAC) is a way to get involved. They do things like visit nursing homes and retirement villages to talk about when to call an ambulance or not.
The Mitchelton Ambulance Station is one of 8 stations in the Brisbane Central region.
Ambulances from Mitchelton don’t just service this area. When someone calls 000 the nearest available vehicle is sent in response. It could be a vehicle from Mt Gravatt or a vehicle from Mitchelton could go to a call at Bribie Island.
Queensland Ambulance offers courses to the public such as CPR and 1st Aid training but none are run out of the Mitchelton Ambulance Station. They are all run centrally (?at Prince Charles?)
