I’m delighted to be invited to attend a workshop to help build “The Case for ACE (Adult & Community Education) – unearthing the influence of ault and community learning in Queensland; with Professor Barry Golding Deputy Head of School of Education University of Ballarat.
This is on Tuesday 21st June at the South Brisbane Crochet Club and involves 5 hours of workshops and forums on learning providers & practitioners experience of ACE and why there is a need to strengthen ACE in Queensland. The outcome of the workshops will be a document intended to influence the State Government candidates for the State election and the ACE sector in Queensland.
It is being organised/ sponsored by the Lifelong Learning Council Queensland Inc the Queensland Council for Adult Literacy COTA Council on the Ageing Queensland Volunteering Queensland and Adult Learning Australia Inc.
I hope to contribute detailed information on the adult and community education currently available locally to the more than 30000 people who live in the upper Kedron Brook valley. This is an excellent case study of exactly what is (and isn’t) happening on the ground in adult and community education in Queensland.
