Chaplains in the North West area of Brisbane were given recognition in the Australia Day Awards at the ceremony at the Samford Community Centre. Chaplains recognised included [b]Andrea Eadie[/b] who is chaplain at Patricks Rd State School.
The Dickson electorate Australia Day Awards include the Dickson Community Awards Volunteer of the Year Award Youth Achievement Awards Youth Achievement in Sport Award the Environmentalist of the Year the Community Award and the Dickson Citizen of the Year.
The Grove was noticeably lacking in Australia Day Awards. Given there are over 31000 of us we have to wonder why. If anyone knows of anyone else from The Grove who got an Award we’d love to give it recognition.
Federal Member for Dickson the Hon Peter Dutton MP presented the Awards. Master of Ceremonies was Cr Bob Millar. Cr Brian Battersby and Geoff Wilson MP (State Minister for Education and Training and Member for Ferny Grove) were also present.
