We just went for a lovely walk down through the bush from Arbor St past the BMX track in the bush down across Cedar Creek by the huge old fig around to where John Jordaan was working with bush regeneration for the Kedron Brook Bushcare Group. Lots of birds around there and a nice picnic table – it would be a good place for breakfast.
Then back across the creek up the track to McGinn Rd and across to the park by the Ferny Grove State High School. Exploring further the school has got a vege garden going well by the creek and some good composting. There is a lot of water in the big ponds down there. We walked along and across the ford with beautiful vistas and reflections up the creek lagoons.
The old boardwalk looks like it would greatly benefit by a Council project to bring it back up to scratch. It is an asset that would be a shame to lose and it is well on the way.
Back via Movilla Park and looked at the brick sculptures in the path through the park some of which have ecological messages on them! There is an indigenous artwork mosaic seat around a tree garden there too.
