Woolworths and Coles are both predominantly Australian-owned unlike some of the other supermarket chains coming into our community. All big chains circulate money straight out of our community (it comes in through wages pensions income from investments…) but they also provide some local jobs. There has been a lot of press about involvement in the gambling industry too.
