Dear {usertag:name}
This e-newsletter is being sent to the Environment Subgroup.
Short notice but there is still time! A picnic together in a lovely part of our local environment.
If you’re free at lunchtime tomorrow (World Environment Day Tuesday 5th June) come along to Lomandra Park on Samford Rd Ferny Hills (opposite side of Samford Rd from the tennis courts) for a picnic in the park together with others from the Environment Subgroup.
We’ll aim for noon and have hot water/tea/coffee stuff there. There is a BBQ if you want to cook. Bring your own food and if you want to bring something to share that would be great.
The Environment starts with getting into it! Kedron Brook will be flowing well and we can walk down to the bridge and the lagoon and have a look at it. I’ll bring some picker-uppers and a bag to collect any rubbish we find on the way. If we have any bird-watchers they could help identify the birds there.
Focus question to think about for World Environment Day:
- What is important to us about the environment in the upper Kedron Brook Cedar Creek and Cabbage Tree Creek catchments?
Please would you also let locals in your networks know this picnic is happening and invite them to come along if they are free.
AngliGreen is also organising a World Environment Day theme at All Saints Anglican Church this coming Sunday.
If you know of any other World Environment Day activities happening locally could you let me know at administrator@transitionthegrove.org.au or put them directly on the Events list yourself please.
Cheers
Anne Tennock
