What do you do when you get a tick? They are so common in long grass and the bush.
I found one with it’s fangs buried in the back of my neck after we went out on a spotlighting expedition last night.
Suggestions so far have been:
Put keroscene on it; or put Rid on it; or put Bushman’s Repellant on beforehand.
Trying to pull it out when it’s still alive can make it inject more poison.
I sprayed the one I had with insect repellantwhich didn’t kill it. They aren’t an insect (they have 8 legs not 6!) Then hubby pulled it out with tweezers. Had to have 2 goes. It hung on tight. He got it all out but it was still very much alive and wriggling and now I’ve got a lump on my neck slightly itchy not inflamed. The woman I spoke to’s son got half his face swollen up from a tick.
