Perfect drainage. Do not waterlog.
Open sunny site.
Add gypsum and plenty of organic material.
Grow on raised mounds built up with compost well-decomposed manure and garden soil. These planting mounds should be 2m in diameter and raised to 50cm or more in height.
Do not fertilise newly planted trees and take care not to overwater them.
Citrus are very hungry feeders with particularly high requirements for trace elements. Animal manure seaweed and rich composts as well as commercial organic fertilisers based on chicken manure.
Container plants need rich compost monthly doses of liquid fish products and seaweed and small regular applications of commercial organic fertilisers or decomposed animal manure.
