Dear {usertag:name}

This e-newsletter is being sent to the Food & Gardening Transport Health Environment Education Energy Water and Towards Zero Waste subgroups.

Welcome new member Emma Crameri. Emma is interested in organic gardening and permaculture and has joined the above subgroups.

I love seeing the word Permaculture in people’s stories. The Transition Town movement grew out of a Permaculture course in Ireland. Some of us are keen on using Permaculture principles in our gardens and in building sustainability into all the systems of our lives. It simply works brilliantly. The HD Community Garden group has been focusing on getting some community garden sites started but there is also potential for Permablitzes and for visiting around our gardens to share and learn from each other and get inspired.

Remember the Ferny Grove Festival is coming up at the Ferny Grove State School on 28th April in the afternoon and Transition The Grove will have a marquee there. There’ll be lots of chances to help and get involved. If you have green thumbs how about potting up some seedlings or cuttings for edible plants for it. If you have a local health business do you have some pamphlets about what you do that could be handouts? How about coming along and talking to folk about your ideas about sustainability and food growing and living locally here?

Transition The Grove t-shirts are available for sale for $20. They have the slogan “Life After Carbon? – ask yourself how” and Transition The Grove on them. If you want one there’ll be some for sale at the Festival or better still order one directly so we can ensure there is one in your size. (administrator@transitionthegrove.org.au) Pay when you pick it up.

Cheers

Anne Tennock
