Transition The Grove is hosting a Clean Up Australia Day site at Leslie Patrick Park Arana Hills. This is an opportunity for residents in the upper Kedron Brook Valley to enjoy working together on a community project to help clean up the attractive park lands and natural environment bordering Kedron Brook. We would love to have you join in!

Clean Up Australia Day takes place every year on the first Sunday of March. From Brisbane to Broome hundreds of thousands of Australians get stuck in and Clean Up their local environment by collecting and removing rubbish on Clean Up Australia Day.

In 2010 more than 588000 volunteers across Australia helped to celebrate 20 years of Clean Up Australia by donning gloves and filling up Clean Up Australia Day rubbish bags with an estimated 15560 tonnes of rubbish at 7073 registered Sites across Australia. To give is some idea of numbers participating at our Leslie Patrick Park site we would appreciate it if you could register as a volunteer on the Clean Up Australia Day web-site. We will meet up beside the car park at The Hills District Community Centre. Additional parking is available off Olearia Street West at The Hills PCYC.

Cleanup Australia has supplied:

  • Instructions
  • Registration forms (All volunteers MUST be registered)
  • Safety and First Aid Equipment
  • Rubbish Bags
  • Some Gloves (limited supply)

What to bring / wear on the day:

  • Family and Friends (Children 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult and have a guardian sign their form indicating their consent).

  • Gardening gloves
  • Covered Footwear
